Anna Canavan is a physician assistant with extensive experience working with surgical patients especially in the care of gallbladder disease, hernias and pilonidal disease. Anna works closely with Dr. Fullington providing a team approach throughout a patient’s care. Anna and Dr. Fullington work as a team to examine patients and discuss treatment options. Working together allows them to spend more time with each patient to provide education about their diagnosis and treatment plan and to answer any questions that arise. This continuity of care is carried forward into the operating room where Anna is an expert in assisting with both open and laparoscopic surgeries. She aims to ensure that every patient feels comfortable and heard and receives the highest level of care.
Anna grew up in Quincy, MA. She has an undergraduate degree in Biology from Assumption College in Worcester and a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies from Tufts University in Boston. She worked for many years as a patient care technician on a surgical floor, during which she gained extensive experience, giving her an authentic perspective of what it is like to be a patient.
When not working, she enjoys going to Red Sox games, traveling, going to the beach, walking her dogs, and spending time with her family and friends.
